An 1800s farmhouse among the green hills of Lake Garda has become Corte Renèe, a small resort completed in 2024 by the Italian practice Bricolo Falsarella.

The project restores the historic agricultural building and converts it into a hospitality structure that, according to the architects, respects local culture and traditions. The resort sits in Oliosi, a hamlet in the Verona area near Lake Garda. Filippo Bricolo led the project as lead architect, working with Francesca Falsarella on the design team. The finished resort measures 2,400 square metres.

Photography by Pietro Savoreelli documents the conversion. Exterior images show the retained brick volumes arranged around a courtyard, with arched brick doorways opening onto paved outdoor space. The architects kept the traditional court layout of the original farmhouse complex.

Inside, the intervention pairs exposed timber beams and wood-lined bedroom interiors with board-marked concrete. Staircases in raw concrete run alongside timber structural elements, and built-in wood cabinetry and closets furnish the guest rooms. The material palette — brick, wood, and concrete — recurs across the ground floor and first floor plans published with the project.

The project documentation includes an exploded axonometry and a catalogue of elements, indicating that the practice approached the restoration as an assembly of distinct, catalogued components rather than a single uniform renovation. Ground floor, first floor, and general site plans accompany the release.

ArchDaily published the project on September 25, 2026, in its hospitality architecture category, curated by Nina Vuga.

Corte Renèe adds to a growing body of work by Italian firms converting rural agricultural heritage around Lake Garda into small-scale hospitality, a segment where restoration-led approaches increasingly compete with new-build resorts.
