The framework covers construction and refurbishment work across National Grid Electricity Distribution's network in the South West, Wales and the Midlands. It spans 10 geographic lots, each carrying a stated contract value of £40m.
Four contractors secured places on all 10 lots: AmcoGiffen, M Group Transport, Pod-Trak and Coombes Forestry. Trant Engineering follows with £36.7m in forecast value, Enable Infrastructure with £33.3m and Envolve Infrastructure with £31m.

Scope of work
The framework covers civil engineering and building work at new and existing substations operating at 132kV, 66kV, 33kV and 11kV. The work includes new substations and buildings, alterations to existing facilities, foundations, fencing, drainage, roads, excavation, cable ducts and general building maintenance.
Specialist work to protect sites against flooding, high winds and other extreme weather risks also falls within the scope. Much of the civils activity will be carried out inside live substations.
The 10 lots stretch from Cornwall and Devon through Wales and the West Midlands to Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.
The framework starts on 14 October and will initially run for one year, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
