RTY Studio has produced a collection of solid wood flush plates for Geberit Sigma systems, cut from American walnut, European oak, and padauk and finished by hand in Zagreb, Croatia.

Sculptor Tomislav Martinčević, a member of the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU), designed and crafted the collection. It reinterprets one of the bathroom's most overlooked functional components through material and form, relying on the grain and color variation of three wood species to give each plate a distinct appearance.

The three models share a common geometry: clean profiles, crisp upper corners, rounded lower corners, and two flush buttons integrated into each wooden face. No two plates read alike — the natural grain and varying tones of the three species guarantee individual results.

How are the plates made?

Production pairs CNC machining with hand sanding, edge refinement, and finishing. The process achieves precise dimensions and smooth transitions between surfaces.

A protective finish provides water resistance while preserving the wood's natural appearance and matte texture. Each plate pairs its solid wood face with a magnetic mounting mechanism and stainless steel screws, concealing all installation hardware from view.

Can buyers customize the plates?

Yes. Alongside the standard collection, RTY Studio produces custom designs featuring geometric patterns, carved surfaces, and wood inlays. According to the studio, these variations extend the flush plate into a personalized design element that responds to the character of an interior.

The project marks a deliberate shift for bathroom hardware: treating the flush plate not as standardized plastic equipment but as a crafted object with sculptural presence. Solid wood brings texture and warmth to a detail that manufacturers typically resolve in chrome or acrylic.

For designers working on residential bathrooms, the collection adds a configurable, warm-material option compatible with the widely specified Geberit Sigma in-wall system — and a signal that even the smallest bathroom components are now open to craft-level customization.
