Key takeaways
- Mace Construct will adopt the Forco name in January 2027.
- Mace Construct and Mace Consult split into separate businesses in March, with Mace Consult keeping the Mace brand.
- Executive Chair Mark Reynolds cited a 35-year track record and pledged to be the UK's most productive contractor by 2030.
- The rebrand launches alongside a new corporate strategy and productivity targets through 2030.
Mace Construct will trade under a new name — Forco — from January 2027, the contractor has confirmed. The rebrand lands alongside a fresh corporate strategy and productivity targets running through to 2030.
The firm said it chose the name because it is "short, impactful and easy to pronounce."
The change didn't come from nowhere. It follows a structural split that took effect in March, when Mace Construct and Mace Consult became two separate businesses. Under that agreement, Mace Consult kept the Mace brand, which forced the construction arm to find its own identity.
What happens between now and 2027?
Nothing changes immediately. The business will continue to trade as Mace Construct until the New Year, then go forward as Forco once the new brand launches.
Two things arrive with the name:
- A new corporate strategy
- Productivity targets stretching to 2030
That 2030 date matters. It anchors the company's stated ambition and gives the rebrand a measurable endpoint rather than a purely cosmetic refresh.
What does the leadership say?
Executive Chair Mark Reynolds framed the rename as continuity wrapped in new packaging. "For 35 years, Mace Construct, soon to be Forco, has been raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward," he said.
He set the bar explicitly for the years ahead: "Our new name represents our clear commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030."
Reynolds was careful to stress that the fundamentals stay in place. "Although our name and brand are changing, the qualities that have made Mace Construct one of the UK's most respected contractors have not: our culture, our values and the people who have underpinned our success," he said.
He also addressed clients directly, promising no disruption at the delivery level: "Clients can expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery, and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last."
Why the wording is deliberate
Notice what the statements do and don't claim. The company isn't announcing new leadership, new ownership or a change in scope. It's a name change tied to a strategy document and a productivity pledge — the kind of move that lets a separated business establish its own market identity without resetting its operations.
The 35-year track record Reynolds cites is the anchor for that argument. The message to clients and the supply chain is that the balance sheet, the people and the delivery model carry over intact.
What to watch next
The real test comes after the January 2027 launch, when the new corporate strategy and the 2030 productivity targets are due to be measured against an industry benchmark Reynolds has now set publicly: nothing less than the UK's most productive contractor.
